The B2V Memories Observatory wanted to know the first impacts that confinement may have had on learning and memorization in children.
Importance of direct interactions
During confinement, information technologies were widely used by teachers, making it possible to provide distance learning, particularly via screen, and to maintain links with students.
Use screens wisely
For younger children, the advantages and disadvantages of screens on memorization vary depending on the subject taught. Thus, they memorize information such as date or chronology better when they learn via a book due to the tactile experience. Conversely, the digital tablet takes over for learning to write.
A hybridization of teaching
Despite differences in student equipment, teachers ensured educational continuity at the height of the crisis, thanks to information technologies, by establishing a hybridization of teaching, mixing exchanges, messages, videoconference lessons or in audio.
Avoid dispersion of attention
Younger generations are able to focus their attention on several subjects at the same time. However, this is done to the detriment of a stronger concentration on each of them and in particular of maintaining attention on a single subject for a long time.
