Musculoskeletal disorders which affect 8 out of 10 employees are increasing significantly, particularly with the development of teleworking and new lifestyle habits.
Localized pain in the lower back
In France, MSDs still represent the leading cause of compensation for occupational illness. Among the most common disorders, low back pain is characterized by localized pain in the lower back which can lead to loss of mobility.
A risk of deterioration of health
Low back pain, commonly also called “lumbago” or “back pain”, affects 4 out of 5 French people during their life but remains poorly understood. In France, 95% of the adult population is exposed to a risk of deterioration in health due to lack of physical activity or too much time spent sitting, according to ANSES.
Chiropractors are on the front lines
These risks are increased when the lack of physical activity and excessive sedentary lifestyle are combined. Chiropractors are on the front lines. Low back pain remains the first reason for consultation cited by patients followed by a chiropractor, according to a survey carried out by Ifop in 2022.
Simple exercises to do at home
On the occasion of Spine Day on October 16, chiropractors who are part of the French chiropractic association will offer from October 16 to 21, 2023, personalized assessments, advice and simple exercises to carry out at home to prevent spine low back pain.
