The Système U group has announced the recall of certain compotes for children due to a risk of the presence of patulin, a mycotoxin which can be secreted by different species of mold.
Organic compotes in bottles, without added sugar, and in three different flavors - strawberry apple, apricot apple and apple - have been recalled. The products concerned are sold in packs of 4 or 12 units, for the apple flavor. The four recalled lots are identifiable by L9450 (barcode 3256226396817), L9423 (barcode 3256226396848), L9282 (barcode 3256226396831) and L9283 (barcode 3256226396862). All U stores in France are affected by this recall measure.
Do not consume the products concerned
Patulin, when ingested in high doses, can cause weight loss, intestinal upset and disruption of kidney function, as well as neurotoxicity and inhibition of enzymes. Customers are therefore invited not to consume the products concerned and can return them to the store for a refund before March 16. U stores can be reached on 0 969 36 69 36.
