In France, Häagen-Dazs ice cream (General Mills group) is voluntarily recalling batches of its vanilla ice cream after detection of traces of ethylene oxide (ETO), a carcinogenic pesticide banned in Europe. According to the group's press release "The residual presence of ETO slightly exceeds the analytical detection thresholds".
