A large-scale British study concludes that the risk of death from prostate cancer is higher in overweight men.
For this study, published in the journal BMC Medicine, researchers examined the data of more than 200,000 men, and the risk of prostate cancer increased with increasing excess weight. Currently, scientists are unable to explain precisely why overweight men are more likely to die from this type of cancer.
In France, approximately 50,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed each year.
