A large English study concludes that the risk of death from prostate cancer is higher in overweight men.
For this study, published in the journal BMC Medicine, researchers examined the situation of more than 200,000 men, and the risk of prostate cancer only increased the greater the excess weight. At the moment, scientists are unable to precisely explain why overweight men die more from this type of cancer.
In France, around 50,000 new cases of prostate cancer are estimated each year.
