A recent analysis by “60 Million Consumers” reveals that 80% of bagged salads, including those from recognized brands and distributors, contain pesticides.
Out of 26 products tested, only five were free of any contamination. The magazine emphasizes that, although the pesticide concentrations found comply with regulatory limits, the effect of combined exposure to these 28 different molecules, 8 of which are suspected of being carcinogenic or reprotoxic, is not yet clearly understood. . This raises questions about potential long-term health risks.
In addition, some organic salads are affected by pesticide residues present in the soil, despite the absence of direct treatment on the plants. This vulnerability to parasites often requires product recalls to ensure food safety.
