Bladder cancer: an innovative diagnostic solution

Today with more than 16,000 new cases per year, bladder cancer is the 5th most common cancer in Europe and the 2nd urological cancer after the prostate.

A rapidly growing cancer

It affects men 4 times more frequently but its incidence also increases in women. Early diagnosis is important because bladder cancer is aggressive and rapidly progressing.

A more reserved prognosis

However, as with other cancers, the earlier it is detected and treated, the better treatable bladder cancer is. Infiltration of the bladder muscle makes it more serious, with heavier treatments, more serious after-effects and a more guarded prognosis.

Cystoscopy and cytology

Cystoscopy is an essential examination, but not ideal: invasive and expensive, but also polluting. As for urinary cytology, we use it “for lack of anything better” because its sensitivity is low, making it far from possible to identify all cancers.

An in vitro diagnostic medical device

Visiocyt® is an in vitro diagnostic medical device, the first to rely on artificial intelligence and image analysis, to facilitate the early detection and monitoring of bladder cancers. Its use will improve the quality of life of patients. Non-invasive, it greatly increases the monitoring of patients being monitored.
