Apple compotes from the Douceur du Verger brand are the subject of a national recall, due to the presence of a mycotoxin above regulatory thresholds, according to the website rappel.conso.gouv.fr.
Patulin can cause “gastrointestinal disorders with ulcerations, distention and hemorrhage, or even disruption of renal function, at higher doses”.
The products concerned are boxes of “apple fruit dessert”, packaged in 16 cups of 100 grams, sold in all Leclerc stores between August 5 and September 19. Only batches bearing the additional code 06 or 08 at the end of the barcode are affected.
